Good trouble

John Lewis passed away recently. He has long been one of my heroes as a strong activist best known for his time in Selma, GA.

This year there has been much civil unrest in almost every town in the USA. Recently, black lives matter movements have been protesting frequently and several of the protestors have been jailed for doing something we have the constitutional right to do: peacefully protest. I then learned of the bond fund for my county and decided to hold a raffle. Every person that donated $10 or more to that fund, received a ticket to win one of several paintings, this being one of them.

We didn't raise as much as I had hoped, but then again money is tight for many people in 2020. It is indeed a year of painful changes for many people, but for good trouble, his fight is over. May he rest in peace.
